If you take the top off you can fit, but I am 5'10, and I barely fit in an exige comfortably

Sorry mang, any tall is too tall. But if its not a DD, its not a huge problem, yeah?
Also 6'4". Rollercoasters and airline seats taunt me.

Seriously awkward on ingress and egress, but since you sit so low, it's pretty roomy once you're in (6'1", 225 here). Never driven one, only sat in one at the track once.

I'm 5'10" or so and after a day trip in my buddy's Elise and a good few runs autoX'ing it my knees were killing me. Definitely not much taller than me I'd say.

Go test drive it! I'm 6'4 and would also like to know! I've sat in one and fit fine, but driving one is possibly a different story.

That is a 15k car at maximum. Congrats on finding a loophole into a proper sports car. The amount of likely repairs will more than cover the spread on seller's price ceiling.

I go by the Clarkson rule. I'm 6'3" and if Clarkson can fit his 6'5" self in it, I can fit myself in it.

It's not so much the height thats the issue with the Elise, as much as how much more difficult it is to get into and out of the taller you are.

lol, I know it's a lot better than that just a jab at you silly smog/emissions cars. What are you considering selling it for in case I run into someone who wants it.

I recall Doug Demuro saying that the process involved getting in the fetal position on the ground, and asking a passerby if they would be kind enough to pick him up and put him in his car.
Obviously this is typical Doug hyperbole, but it gives the general idea that it isn't the easiest thing for a tall person.

We don't really know cause we have never seen another Q-Code for sale. But I saw a 429 car sell for 35k, but I'm guessing somewhere in maybe 18-20K range?

Im 5'10" and found it a little awkward getting in and out, I was looking to buy an Elise two years ago since it would be the only car I would be driving for a fair bit of time, I thought against it. That said, as bad as the history looks, get it checked up by a Lotus dealer, use what you find as an advantage to bring the price down, I'm guessing 20K may be a more reasonable amount with that history.

pretty much the current shape.
It needs the floorboards patched still, which is my next step. then carpet, headliner, wider wheels/new tires eventually, and paint. It's drivable as is, and I spun the tires driving it home (with the original window sticker in the glove box).
Only things I've done to it:
Edelbrock intake
Holley 4 barrel
Dual Flowmaster Super 44s

Oh not bad. My GTS but pretty much is the same as I got it.
I've done is:
laser stripe
Wider Wheels and tires with Mag 500's
New Radiator
New Steering Box and PS pump
Electronic points

I've found the best maintained ones on CL, more particularly smaller towns with wealthy population. I often look at the towns suggested on the right side of the main CL (say for example kansascity.craigslist.org will suggest st louis, and wichita). As for dealerships, they can be found there but you will pay a very hefty sum for the uniqueness factor of it. Whereas private sale, we all understand we lose some money. Just my 2c

NP, all day, err'day. These things are going up in price lately.
They're also made for people my size, usually. 5'4".
I've seen large dudes fold in there, though. Try it out.
